RECOGNIZE YOUR DISCIPLES´S TRIUMPHS PDF Print E-mail
The triumphs of those around us must not only be recognized, but we should recognize that this re.ects on the leaders as well. How many times has your team achieved great victories and you have never recognized their efforts? Someone told me, “When I was a child I learned good grades and presented them to my father, but he never congratulated me, he always told me, ‘Remember, next time they have to be better.’ When I achieved a conquest, there was never a congratulatory word, on the contrary, he said, ‘Now you have to aim higher!’” According to this individual, up to this day he has never managed to satisfy his father. As a leader, learn to recognize the achievements of those who work with you and who make up your team. Paul comments,

“Knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God. For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake” (1 Thessalonians 1:4-5).

Paul praised the Thessalonians because he knew them and loved them, and understood the commitment and perseverance required to establish their Christian walk. Because Jesus’ gospel was received in words and power, the Thessalonians could value and appreciate the apostle’s heart. This is why Paul expresses his praise to them. Furthermore, when the Lord wrote to the seven churches in the book of Revelation, He gave them the acknowledgment each one deserved, even though He also had to reprove them. To the church of Philadelphia He says:

“I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name” (Revelation 3:8).

The Lord recognized that that church was weak. Nevertheless, He praised them because they had kept His word and were not ashamed of Him, nor did they deny his name. In the same way, it is important to recognize those around you and to give them a voice of support encouraging and motivating them to keep going.
